Happy Ending

This is a photo snapped of Skyla as she watches The Grinch for the second time this hour. She seems to convey her emotions as the movie's evil plot twists and turns into WaaHoo Joy. Lovely. LOVE THAT MOVIE! Thanks Mom.

More Ovaltine...

Skyla's been watching Christmas cartoons today and eating grasshopper cookies.......well, feeding them to herself via drool osmosis on her chin perhaps? I don't recall actually seeing her open her mouth....I just handed them to her and they were gone... Uh, yeah that heart shaped goatee she's created with the remnants is definitely gaze-worthy...

Froggies Take a Bath

Skyla loves big puddles. Everybody passing by loves to watch Skyla loving big puddles. Mommy doesn't have any emotions toward big puddles until she finds them in the house.

Pray for her.

WHO Let It Snow??

Uh....so, all of a sudden the weather fairies must have realized the first day of winter is tomorrow and they better do something to make it look like they've still got their skills or something.... Because now it's cold....and there's SNOW. Here's Brian taking a picture of Skyla and I as we walk down our street to the shops for some family fun. We had that alright! All Skyla wanted to do was make new footprints in the snow. Every single step.

Green Is For Greenway

I wanted to share the glorious green moss that is everywhere. I LOVE it! This is an alley that's very near our house. In the background is a tower that is at one end of our street.

Then we have Sulky Skyla. I just wanted a stinkin picture of how green the grass is! IT REALLY IS GREENER OVER HERE ON THIS SIDE OF THE FENCE!!!!! Or, Pond. Ocean.

THEN we have just an "ordinary" staircase that goes up to our street and right outside our house. I just found this shortcut today. I LIKE IT!!! Oh that moss...

Holly Berry

Well I just wanted you guys to see the holly trees that they have just growing next to the sidewalk here. Very Christmas..E.   Skyla didn't want to stand on the half wall without holding onto me, so I told her to sit, and sorry about the face, but it's either that or no picture. The one above I just cropped my gigantic hand out of.

I'm a Jerk

You know when somebody takes a picture and you're not ready, and it makes your face look like this? Well that's what happened here. And she's sitting on a bar stool, on the wrong part of the bar stool....and I just for some reason feel like laughing at this picture today. Call me a jerk but I do.

Skyla, In the Living Room, With Her Finger

Usually every morning, we have condensation on our windows like this. Today however, I found a strange face in it...... Who done it? Was it Skyla's invisible friend Joey? Or was it another piece of her artwork from her workshop? Or was it.........a ghost.........

Look Mommy, Both Hands

Skyla has been taught to use a knife and fork to cut her food like a proper child in England. Apparently Americans are known for cutting their food with the sides of their forks. I still do. It's brilliant. Less dishes! But enough about me, look at her! All grown up sort of and stuff...

Say Cheese

None other than your precious blondie Skyla took these STUNNING photos of me. I was given each prop, and told exactly how to hold my face and body for each shot. She really surprises me with something new each day. Brian finds her quite enthralling to say the least...

Who Lives In a Pineapple...

Spongebob is Skyla's long lost brother. She lllloves him.Oh and she loves Joey. Her invisible brother. She wouldn't let me go and just say Spongebob..... So here's her drawing.

OH Christmas Tree!

Well, Skyla asked me one night, "Mommy why do Christmas trees always have to be green?" I answered, "Well what color would YOU like them to be?" She said, "Pink! Because I like pink!" So I found one in the grocery store this weekend, while Brian had snuck away to purchase what Mrs. Santa had picked out for Skyla at the store next door, and I asked where the pink Christmas tree boxes were..... They told me they weren't getting anymore in, and the only one left was the display---and they aren't selling it. I told a saddened girl she couldn't have a pink Christmas tree after all, when SUDDENLY the Scottie grew a heart and told me we could have the display for FREE! We needed lights and a stand (unlike the tree would have had should we have purchase it in a box), but no worries! Daddy was back and willing to help solve our little problem. He saw two grinning girls and a squashed, pink Chrismas tree in the cart full of groceries, and made a face no one would be able to describe. We love him. He lets us have our crazy ways sometimes, and therefore.....HERE'S OUR TREE!!!!

Please! Not While I'm WORKING!

Here is Skyla taking up half of our window seat with her toys (the other part is covered with her other half of toys). She sometimes shuts the curtains so she has a "workshop" in which she seems to think I can no longer hear her. I hear one toy call another a "snot" and then the accused toy denies it. This goes on quite a lot. Then I hear the exact dialogue from the movie TINKERBELL, and think I've left the speakers on or something... Well she's in her coat in this picture because we just got back from the post office FROM MAILING ALL Y'ALLs CHRISTMAS PRESENTS!!!! Family's that is. Those of my friends can expect a special something random at a different point in time. :)

Thursday, December 10

Fine. I guess.

I know I have to put pictures up as often as possible, so today I just asked her to go stand next to the presents we've been wrapping for YOU ALL, and she couldn't give me a nice smile. She had to give me these faces. So there, now you can get a hint of what we've been up to.

Move Over Vanna White

Here we have Skyla joyfully pointing out that there are 18 days left until CHRISTMAS!!!! Get pumped y'all, SHE is!

Guilty

This is a piece of our GORGEOUS bedroom----you can't POSSIBLEY get the full feel for this place----but TRUST ME it's so cool... There's a chest in our room that's 300+ YEARS OLD!!!!

Time To Eat

This is our new kitchen! The fridge is hidden in cupboards!

Can You Find Skyla?

This is our awesome new living room in Scotland---it's hard to get it to look awesome in a picture though.....I tried to get the Glasgow City View through the window in this shot-----but..... Just TRY to imagine how great a time we're having. Because we ARE.

Daddy's Girl

Skyla took this picture! Very artsy don't you think? Looks like she might've learned a thing or none from her dad!

Tuesday, December 1

Whoopsie Daisy

THIS was funny. I know you've already seen my terrible laundry situation, but this picture is of Skyla as I told her to back up and get out of my way because I was busy and didn't want to keep bumping into her----so she literally BACKED up, and tripped on the laundry basket and fell in. HAHAHHHAHA We both had a great laugh about this one. Classic.

Cooking With Skyla

Skyla has some cartoon shows that involve a bit of CGI and a bit of humans---they have a show called "Big Cook Little Cook" and another called "I Can Cook." She loves them. I give her my empty tins to play with, because she's obsessed with cooking things. She now has created her own KITCHEN out of the mess of boxes around our living room, and has developed her own cooking show (which you see in the above photo). Yes, she's making chicken curry out of Original Coffee Mate. She did the prep work for "soup," but somehow came out with the curry. They say over here, "Do you feel like a Chinese?" or "How about Curry?" Which means, "Do you want Chinese food?" and "How about any of the bazillion types of Indian Food?"
(By the way, it blazing STINKS that they don't sell any other flavors of coffee mate here.......just original, and LITE. Mmmmmmmm...NOT!) Ok. I'm not hating on my region. I'm just venting. *sizzles a bit*

Don't Be Alarmed

She's doing the butt-wiggle she's so kindly stolen from me. She's got an orange slice in her cheek-pouch (I didn't know this until looking at the picture), and she's standing in the middle of one of our continual chaos spots in the house. The laundry is in the washer with the next loads ready to go, there are the clean dishes in the rack on the counter, and the contents of our DRAWER in that white tub because we're packing, there's that damn recycling bin that's nearly empty (only as of yesterday, because I thought it had thrown up on the left side of my kitchen), and the stove is out of the picture (thank GOD)----but it's just NeVeR not being used it seems, so aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. I showed you. Now it's out.

Business or Pleasure?

Skyla draws a picture on this board about 177 times a day. Today, her second picture was of "Daddy walking ALL the way to Morocco." And she thinks that's funny, so she must be sick. She's apparently been telling Brian while I've been at work that she wants to take a vacation to Morocco with JUST daddy and her.....and "mommy can stay in London."
Brian thinks this is hilarious. She's also requested to leave me out of a trip to Tunisia. Guess Dad's been doing something right.
For those of you who didn't know, Brian spent a week in Morocco filming "Sex In the City 2," but he FLEW. Prior to that he spent a couple of weeks in Tunisia doing a film called "Sirens" based on the idea of the Greek mythological creatures. The girls were left in London for those two trips, but next up is Scotland for a TV show called "Deep," and we ALL get to go!

Let's Get Physical

This morning, Skyla was already dressed WITH hair done when I woke up to her trying to put a barbie into my hand. I told her to go downstairs and I'd take a picture of her by our boxes to show people that she doesn't look much crazier than our living room right now... She couldn't stand still, because she was dancing to a song she was making up as I tried to use the camera. So, this is what I got.

One For You NONE For Me

This is my meat eating daughter. Yuck. Brian gets a little upset with me because I tend not to give her a wide enough variety of a diet.....meaning, I'm a vegetarian so I don't feed my child meat, and he's a meatatarian so he would like to see her eating meat as well. Well I went along with this idea, because I think he's absolutely right, and I bought her some ham. BLUUUH I had to take this pictrue just so I could get a few feet away from the smell!!!!! But she ate the whole container's worth so good job Dad. Also, there's the laptop I'm typing on now, and the desktop picture is a picture Brian took of the Battersea Power Station (as important as the Lansing capital to Michigan as far as buildings go in Battersea) It's a really cool picture. Oh I'll just put it up.

I See You

That. That's that damn computer. She ALWAYS is using it. It's from dear Auntie Lana and Uncle Joe in 2007, and I couldn't be more angry at them. In this picture, she has her favorite dress on, her Cinderella dress-up gown. She's got her favorite doggie and her most prized possession; Her Drawing Board. She found a corner in my bedroom to play as I changed the sheets on my bed.

Not a Bad Idea

I had a cold, and ran out of tissues. So I'd been using toilet paper for my constantly needy nose, and my dearest daughter wanted to take care of me, so she picked up the role from the coffee table and sat on the floor by the couch, telling me SHE would be the toilet paper holder. I could just take it as I need it, just like in the bathroom. Poor dear had her arm out and ready and everything. Precious.

Tea for Two

That's MY hat. But she somehow found it and put it on. She invited me to a dinner party in her room one night that Brian was at work. She turned dinner music on (yeah, that damn computer of hers plays the cinderella songs in that lovely King's Quest like sound), and even wore her fine jewelry (though she had to ask me to fasten it). I had cocoa crispies and she had chicken curry. We sat at a lovely table for two made out of fine plastic. We ate in a busy restaurant, for there were all sorts of animals and princesses around (they were toys that go IN the plastic tub.....she dumped them out to make a table, bless her...).

The Skyla Ball

Yeah, so there's Jay-Jay's figures. She draws them from the Mozart era, with appropriate footwear. They are booty boogying and bending over backwards to impress you with their dancing. If they don't, try looking at the cheeseball on the right, complete with spaghetti sauce on the corner of her mouth.

And...One More!

Skyla likes to have hair clips. Lots of hair clips. ALL of her hair clips. Then Skyla looks at me like I'M strange for wanting to take a picture of her at BREAKFAST dressed in her Tinker Bell pajamas and THOSE on her head.

This'll Have To Do

And this would be Skyla trying to hold still and smile nicely so I could take a fricking picture of her with that leaf in her hair and show all of you how ridiculous my life is with her in it.

Uh Oh

This would be Skyla's face when she's embarrassed. If I tell her to stop goofing off or else (insert threat here) and she WANTS (threat you inserted above), then she goes on and puts this face upon the front of her pretty little head.

That's a big red leaf I brought her home from my walk. She wanted it in her hair.

Sisters of Sorts

This is Jay-Jay dressed in one of her get-ups again. She dresses herself now, and boy does she make sure she's got EVERYthing on that she pleases. That's Grandpa Nev's chair behind her with Jessie, the Wilson family's dog. She's also Skyla's baby. She follows Skyla EVERYwhere, and the two of them are about the same size. It's real cute until Jessie thinks she should be allowed to sit at the dinner table next to her best friend Skyla.

Peppa Pig

One of Skyla's new cartoons here is called "Peppa Pig." It's about a piggie girl and her family of other sized pigs. They all snort before they say their lines in the show, so (as you can imagine) this gets the kids giggling at home in their living rooms. AND it gets them mimicking it in every OTHER room of the house once the cartoon has finished. This would be Skyla on the right, snorting like a pig.

This Is the Dawning

This is how Skyla likes to dress herself. We often find her with this flower child necklace/headband. She's drawn enough attention to get a photograph taken of her this time.

Skyla, Grandma's on the Phone

Skyla tries to cross her legs, but she never seems to quite reach the comfortable part of the procedure.

Feel the Breeze

Skyla made a window out of the architecture of this London bridge.

Ah, the lovely contaminated Thames. What a view, what a view.
That face of hers does dazzle it up a bit though, don't you think?
